Fisseha Getnet’s effort and the Astonishment of His Colleagues

From Ezra Ejigu (tewedaje Media)

Last night, I was astonished while watching a documentary on Fana. Nature is incredibly delicate, and it reveals God’s extraordinary creation. Fana’s production team has presented it in a carefully curated way for viewers. The only person qualified to appreciate this cave is the , Nasir Ahmed. I am confident that even the Minister of Tourism will make an additional visit to the cave. Tourism Minister Selamawit Kassa carries the belief that Nasir will manage the cave as a tourist destination or a place to visit. This documentary, produced by journalist Fisseha Getnet, deserves recognition. Not only him, but the entire production team should be commended. They did excellent work.

Fisseha started his journalism career at Fana FM 98.1 in Gondar. Since then, he has worked in various capacities, from editorial roles at Qumnager magazine to sports journalism at Addis Media Network, as well as directing creative teams at Walta Television. Currently, he works at Fana Television as the chief assistant producer for documentary programs. His writing and understanding of nature are truly impressive.

Na siol cave

Three members of the Fana Television team were dispatched for the coverage: driver Jemal Endire, camera specialist Mesfin Berihun, and producer Fisseha Getnet.
Fisseha, having studied the available information in advance, had seen various photos and a few videos, which increased his eagerness to go to the site. To reach to the cave, they traveled over 500 kilometers by car from Addis Ababa. The route heads toward the Harar line, and after passing Kobo town, they turned right and navigated a challenging rough road to reach Melka Belo district, where the naseol cave found .

Fisseha told tewedaje Media:
“The local residents are very eager for the cave to be recognized in the media. Even small towns and rural communities have welcomed us with great love. They have prepared and maintained the route to the cave and arranged accommodations for us.”
Nasiol is located beneath a forested mountain and is an astonishing place. The only speleologist in Ethiopia, Nasir Ahmed, discovered this cave. We will talk more about Nasir Ahmed in the future.

caves are mysterious objects that contain wealth, knowledge, and history within them. Much of human life and historical beginnings are found within caves.

Mr. Nasir Ahmed, a researcher of masks, explains that in areas such as East Hararghe, West Bale, and Arsi, numerous remarkable masks can be found in abundance.
The researcher made an effort to collect and study over 400 of these caves and document them in a book to introduce them to the world of tourism. He also describes that, at the time he studied these caves, he developed a special affection for one particular cave.

This cave called “Nasiol,” was discovered, examined in detail, and its beauty showcased to cave enthusiasts by the researcher, Mr. Nasir.
The name of the cave, “Nasiol,” is derived from the name of the researcher and is interpreted to mean “the most outstanding” or “the best.”
Experts in the field explain that, based on their characteristics, caves can be categorized into medical, industrial, ceremonial, physiotherapy, and tourism caves.

Mr. Nasir, who studied many caves across different countries, emphasizes that Nasiol is unmatched in beauty, making it a leading cave in tourism.
Recently, citizens from various countries have expressed their intention to visit Ethiopia specifically to see this remarkable cave.

Journalist Fisseha, along with camera specialist Mesfin Berihun, documented the 530-meter-long cave during both day and night using camera and drone footage.

Although they spent more than six hours at each location, the caves beauty made them forget fatigue and hunger, according to Fisseha.
“…The cave was even more magnificent than I had seen in photos and videos. Walking inside it for the first time at over 500 meters, dealing with low oxygen and high temperatures, we managed to capture its beauty on drone footage to show viewers. The caves beauty surpasses even Sof Omar. Nasir Ahmed, who explored, studied, and documented caves in Ethiopia and abroad, admires the park’s beauty,” said journalist Fisseha Getnet.

We invite viewers to watch this well-prepared documentary film.
