Writer Abera Lemma is set to launch his autobiography

The autobiography of writer and journalist Abera Lema, titled “And Thus It Was Lived,”(endihim tenurwal) a 550-page work, will be launched on Saturday,February 14, 2026 G.C., at Wemezekir Hiruy Hall, starting at 8:00 in the afternoon.

On the day, prominent guests will be invited as speakers, and a critical review paper on the autobiography will also be presented.

Writer Abera Lemma is one of the country’s poets and short-story writers and is a graduate of Addis Ababa University in Ethiopian Languages and Literature.
Abera has worked at Ethiopian Radio and in press institutions. His career has spanned from war-front journalism to criticism in the arts, and he has succeeded in producing works that are popular among readers.

Among the published works of Abera Lema are the following:
1967 – “Kul Woyis Tilashet,” a poetry collection
1974 – “Shibet,” a poetry collection
1975 – “Life and Death,” a collection of short stories
1976 – “Mogedegnaw Newgette,” a novelette
1978 – “Abadefar,” an anthology with other writers
1978 – “Tsegiereda Be’ir,” an anthology with other poets
In addition to these, he has written and published more than 21 books.

The guest of honor for the program will be Dr. Hailu Araya, and among the speakers will be Embet Hoy Firealem Shibabaw and Engineer Bijay Nayker.
