Ashley Furniture, a globally recognized American furniture brand with more than 80 years of history, has officially opened its second showroom in Ethiopia through its exclusive local franchise and distribution partner, Yusra Home.
Yusra Home launched the first Ashley Furniture showroom near Bisrate Gebriel in January. Today, it inaugurated its second showroom in the Gurd Shola area of Addis Ababa.
Ashley Furniture, which operates in more than 155 countries, is expected to contribute to strengthening Ethiopia’s international business profile and global partnerships.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia Ervin Massinga, the guest of honor, said Ashley Furniture’s entry into Ethiopia would further strengthen trade relations between the United States and Ethiopia. He also congratulated Yusra Home on opening its second branch.
The event was officially inaugurated in the presence of Yusra Nurhussein Rejaf, Founder and CEO of Yusra Home, Ashley Furniture executives, prominent business leaders, diplomats, and members of the media.
As Ethiopia continues to experience growth in tourism and rapid expansion in modern hotel construction, international companies are increasingly showing interest in the country’s market. Ashley Furniture’s official entry is expected to support the country’s construction and hospitality sectors.
Yusra Nurhussein noted that Ethiopia is becoming one of Africa’s leading tourism destinations by leveraging its natural, historical, and cultural attractions. She said Yusra Home is proud to have opened a second Ashley Furniture showroom just six months after launching the first one.
Mark Maras, Ashley Furniture’s Vice President for Africa and the United Kingdom, stated that Yusra Home met Ashley Furniture’s franchise and distribution standards, leading to the awarding of the exclusive dealership. He added that Ashley Furniture is proud to supply its products to Ethiopia through Yusra Home and praised Addis Ababa as a fast-growing city with strong market potential.
Yusra Nurhussein also revealed that it took two years to bring Ashley Furniture to Ethiopia and announced plans to open additional branches in the future.
